Sirnica, a layered cheese pie from Balkan cuisine, is filled with kashar cheese and hot red pepper flakes and baked between thin yufka sheets. The layers take skill to assemble, resulting in a sliceable pie for celebration tables.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the Filling

5 min

Mix the kashar cheese with two eggs, the red pepper flakes, and salt.

2

Make the Liquid Mixture

3 min

Whisk the remaining egg with the milk and olive oil.

3

Assemble the Layers

17 min

Crumple the yufka sheets and arrange them in a baking dish. Sprinkle the cheese filling between the sheets and drizzle with the liquid mixture.

4

Bake

30 min

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, until the top is golden brown.

Reminder

Cover the yufka sheets with a damp towel as you work to keep them from drying out; dry sheets crack and ruin the layers. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), milk and dairy products, and eggs.

Fırınımın altı güçlü olduğu için 30 dakika yerine 24 dakikada altın rengi aldı, sekiz dilimin kenarları biraz daha erken kontrol etmenizi öneririm, yoksa alt katmanlar fazla kararabilir.
