This quick Turkish stovetop casserole combines ground beef in tomato paste sauce with pasta. Topped with melted kashar cheese, it makes a family-friendly dinner.
Boil the pasta in plenty of salted water according to the package directions, then drain. Drizzle with a little oil to keep it from sticking.
Saute the onion and green bell pepper in oil until softened. Add the ground beef and cook over medium heat until its liquid releases and evaporates.
Add the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Add the grated tomato, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper, and cook for 8–10 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
Stir the cooked pasta into the sauce. Sprinkle kashar over the top, remove the pan from the heat, and cover it. Let stand for a few minutes until the cheese melts, then serve hot.
Important: Cook the ground beef until its liquid has fully released and evaporated; otherwise, the sauce will be watery. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten) and dairy (kashar). Refrigerate leftovers and eat within 2 days.
