Boil the pasta

A tomato sauce prepared with plenty of garlic and red pepper flakes meets pasta to create this famous spicy classic of Italian cuisine. An ambitious recipe that comes together quickly with just a few ingredients.
Boil the pasta in plenty of salted water for 1 minute less than the package time, then drain, reserving some of the cooking water.
Sauté the garlic and red pepper flakes in olive oil over low heat until fragrant, taking care not to burn them. Add the tomatoes and simmer with salt for 15 minutes.
Add the drained pasta to the sauce and stir, adjusting the consistency with the cooking water. Sprinkle with fresh basil leaves and serve.
Important: Toasting the red pepper flakes in olive oil over low heat transfers their heat better into the oil, giving the sauce a deeper flavor. Allergen: contains wheat (gluten).
You can adjust the heat level to your own taste by reducing or increasing the amount of red pepper flakes.
