Boil the octopus
60 minAdd the cleaned octopus to boiling water with a bay leaf and boil until it can be easily pierced with a fork.
This recipe, made by baking boiled octopus with potatoes and tomatoes in an olive oil mixture, brings octopus to the table in a different presentation beyond grilling and salads. Baking makes the flesh even more tender.
Add the cleaned octopus to boiling water with a bay leaf and boil until it can be easily pierced with a fork.
Spread sliced potatoes, tomato and onion rings in a baking dish, and toss with olive oil, garlic, thyme, salt and black pepper.
Break up the boiled octopus and place it over the vegetables, then drizzle a little more olive oil on top.
Bake in a preheated oven until the potatoes are tender.
Important: Before putting the octopus in the oven, make sure you've boiled it thoroughly to soften it, or it won't cook enough in the oven. Allergen: contains seafood only. Caution: use an oven mitt when removing the baking dish — the edges can be hot since the olive oil is simmering.
If you marinate the octopus pieces in olive oil and thyme for a few minutes before baking, the aroma becomes deeper.

Tarçın yerine biraz zencefil ekledim, hoş bir fark yarattı. Kabuğunu soymadan denedim, dokusu daha iyiydi bence. Baharat oranını kendime göre ayarladım, tarifin ruhunu bozmadı.
