Toast the bagels
5 minCut the bagels in half and lightly toast the cut sides in a toaster or pan.
This sandwich, made by splitting and toasting a bagel and filling it with cream cheese and smoked salmon, is an elegant presentation inspired by American breakfast culture. It comes together quickly with no cooking required.
Cut the bagels in half and lightly toast the cut sides in a toaster or pan.
Spread cream cheese evenly over both bagel halves.
Place the cucumber slices and smoked salmon on the bottom half of the bagel, sprinkle with dill, close with the top half, and serve.
Important: Add the smoked salmon right before serving and store it without breaking the cold chain. Allergen: contains wheat flour (gluten), dairy products (cream cheese), and fish. Note: Don't over-toast the bagels, otherwise the sandwich becomes hard to chew.
If you mix a few drops of lemon juice and finely chopped dill into the cream cheese, you bring out the flavor of the salmon even more. Adding capers can also give the sandwich a slightly tangy and salty note.
