A speeded-up Balkan favourite, this dish is made by pressure-cooking beef in a spiced ajvar sauce and shredding it into somun bread. The pressure cooker cuts a cooking time of hours down to 15 minutes.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Sear the beef

8 min

Heat the olive oil in the pressure cooker and sear the cubed beef over high heat until browned.

2

Add the spices

2 min

Add the onion, garlic, sweet paprika, chili flakes, ajvar spread, salt and water, then close the pressure cooker lid.

3

Pressure-cook

15 min

Heat the pressure cooker on high until it reaches pressure, then lower the heat and cook for 15 minutes; afterwards let the pressure release on its own.

4

Stuff the bread

5 min

Shred the cooked beef with two forks and generously stuff it into the warmed somun bread.

Reminder

Do not open the lid before the pressure has released on its own, or the meat will turn tough. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten).
