Mango and onion, lightly roasted in the air fryer, are mixed with chilli and lemon juice to make this sauce, fitting Brazilian streets' sweet-and-spicy sensibility into a portable jar. It travels in a picnic basket alongside grilled food or chips.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Roast the mango and onion

12 min

Toss the mango and onion slices in olive oil and arrange them in the air fryer basket, roast at 190°C for 12 minutes, until the edges lightly char. If you do not have an air fryer, roast them in an oven at the same temperature for 12 minutes instead.

2

Chop and mix

10 min

Chop the roasted mango and onion into small pieces and transfer to a bowl.

3

Season and rest

10 min

Stir in the chilli, lemon juice and salt, then let it rest for 10 minutes.

4

Serve with coriander

5 min

Scatter coriander over the sauce, transfer to a jar and serve.

Reminder

Do not choose an overly ripe mango, since a slightly firm one holds together better in the air fryer. Making the sauce a day ahead lets the flavours meld more fully.

Mangonun airfryer'da hafifçe kavrulması tatlılığını yoğunlaştırmış, acı biberle birlikte gerçekten dengeli bir sos oldu.
