Blanched cabbage leaves are filled with lean minced beef, rice and herbs, then simmered in a light tomato sauce. Made with lean mince and olive oil, this French home-style dish is a heart-friendly option.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Blanch the leaves

5 min

Blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling water for 3 minutes, then drain and thin down the thick stem part of each leaf.

2

Make the filling

6 min

Mix the lean minced beef with the boiled rice, onion, parsley, salt and black pepper.

3

Roll

10 min

Place a spoonful of filling in the centre of each leaf and fold the edges in to roll it up tightly.

4

Cook

20 min

Arrange the rolls in a wide pot, drizzle over the olive oil and tomato sauce, cover and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.

Reminder

Don't forget to thin down the thick stem of each leaf with a knife after blanching, or it will tear while rolling. This recipe contains no known allergens.

Yaprakları yeterince haşlamadığım için sap kısımları sert kaldı, sararken üç tanesi yırtıldı ve harç dışarı taştı; ayrıca 20 dakika pişirme bende yetmedi, ortası soğuk kaldı.
