A classic English dish, this cottage pie pressure-cooks the beef with vegetables for speed and swaps the traditional potato topping for cauliflower mash to keep it low in carbohydrate. It is served straight from the pan, with no oven needed.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Pressure-cook the beef filling

15 min

Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil, add the beef and cook until it changes colour. Add the carrot, tomato paste, hot broth, thyme, salt and pepper, close the pressure cooker and cook for 15 minutes.

2

Boil and mash the cauliflower

10 min

Boil the cauliflower for 10 minutes until tender, drain well and mash it with the butter until smooth.

3

Assemble and serve

10 min

Spread the beef filling onto a serving dish and top with the cauliflower mash, scattering over the optional cheese, and serve hot.

Reminder

Drain the cauliflower thoroughly in a colander before mashing it, or the mash will turn watery and will not sit properly on top of the beef filling. Allergens: contains milk and dairy.
