A practical pilaf in which bulgur, lightly browned with tomato and pepper, cooks in just a few minutes in a pressure cooker. This recipe, quick to prepare on busy days, is an economical and filling option.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Sauté the onion and pepper

5 min

Sauté the finely chopped onion and pepper in vegetable oil until softened.

2

Add the tomato

3 min

Add the grated tomato and sauté for a few minutes.

3

Add bulgur and water to the pressure cooker

2 min

Add the washed bulgur, hot water, and salt, then close the lid of the pressure cooker.

4

Cook in the pressure cooker

10 min

Cook the pressure cooker over high heat until it whistles, then cook over low heat for 7 minutes; remove from the heat and let the steam release on its own. Important: do not force the steam release valve open, as it carries a burn risk.

5

Let it steep

2 min

Open the lid, gently fluff the rice, and serve.

Reminder

Important: Let the pressure cooker release its steam naturally in the usual way — forcing it open carries a risk of burns. To shorten the time, make sure the internal pressure has settled before closing the pot.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

If you don't have a pressure cooker, you can prepare the same recipe in a regular pot by cooking it 5-6 minutes longer.

Krema yerine yoğurt kullandım, daha hafif bir sonuç aldım.
