Filipino shrimp steamed dumplings are made by mixing chopped shrimp with spring onion and sesame oil, wrapping in thin dough and steaming. Keeping the steamer basket clear of the boiling water below stops the dumplings from touching it and falling apart.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the filling

5 min

Mix the chopped shrimp with the spring onion, sesame oil and ginger.

2

Wrap

10 min

Knead the flour with a little water, roll thin, cut into squares, fill and wrap.

3

Steam

13 min

Steam the dumplings in a basket at least 2 centimetres above the boiling water for 13 minutes.

Reminder

Keep the steamer basket at least 2 centimetres above the boiling water, or dumplings touching the water will fall apart. Do not roll the dough too thick, or the centre will stay raw. Allergens: contains gluten (flour), shellfish (shrimp), sesame (sesame oil).

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

Adding a pinch of grated ginger to the filling brings out the freshness of the shrimp.
