Parboil the rice
8 minBoil the washed rice in salted water for 8 minutes until half-softened, then drain.
A creamy pilaf, loved by children and adults alike, in which boiled rice is blended with milk, egg, and kaşar cheese and baked until golden. A filling option on its own, with no side dish needed.
Boil the washed rice in salted water for 8 minutes until half-softened, then drain.
Whisk together the milk, egg, half of the grated kashar cheese, salt, and black pepper.
Spread the half-boiled rice in a baking dish, pour the mixture over it, and sprinkle the remaining kashar on top.
Bake in a preheated oven until the top browns and the mixture sets. Important: don't over-boil the rice beforehand, since it will finish cooking fully in the oven.
Important: Only half-boil the rice before baking it — if fully cooked, it may fall apart in the oven. Allergen: contains milk, egg, and dairy (kashar cheese).
If you leave it under the grill setting for a few more minutes, the kaşar cheese forms a more pronounced crust.
