A street food skewer in which chicken thigh meat is coated in a sweet-spicy Korean gochujang sauce and grilled. With its vibrant red color and caramelized surface, it's served as a snack at parties and gatherings.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Marinate the chicken

20 min

Mix the chicken cubes with gochujang, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey, and sesame oil, then cover and let rest for at least 20 minutes.

2

Thread onto skewers

8 min

Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto skewers, leaving space between pieces.

3

Grill

12 min

Cook the skewers over medium-high heat, turning; in the last 2-3 minutes, brush the remaining sauce over them. Caution: since the sauce contains sugar, watch closely in the final minutes as it can burn easily.

4

Serve

2 min

Garnish the hot skewers with finely chopped spring onion and sesame seeds, then serve.

Reminder

Important: Brush the sauce onto the skewers only in the last few minutes of cooking, or the sugar in it will burn too early. Caution: If using wooden skewers, be sure to soak them in water before cooking. Allergens: contains soy (soy sauce).

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

If you can't find gochujang, you can achieve a similar sweet-spicy profile by mixing hot pepper paste with honey and a bit of ground red pepper.

Karıştırırken fazla çırpmışım, dokusu sertleşti. İlk seferde dağıldı, ikinci denemede daha iyi tutundu. İlk denemede tuzunu kaçırdım, ikinci seferde daha dikkatli oldum.
