Korean cuisine's sweet-spicy yangnyeom sauce meets thinly sliced beef tenderloin in this recipe. The longer the marinade sits, the more flavour the meat takes on, resulting in a nut-free main dish that packs well for a lunchbox.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the marinade

5 min

Mix the soy sauce, honey, garlic cloves, ginger, pepper flakes and sesame oil.

2

Marinate

40 min

Toss the beef strips thoroughly with the marinade and marinate in the fridge for at least 40 minutes.

3

Cook

8 min

Cook the beef strips in a hot pan over high heat, turning, for 8 minutes.

4

Finish and serve

5 min

Garnish with spring onion and sesame seeds and serve hot.

Reminder

Cook the beef quickly over high heat; a longer cook time burns the marinade's sugar and toughens the meat. Allergens: contains soy and sesame.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

Swapping the honey for brown sugar gives the sauce a slightly darker, more caramel-like flavour; in that case 1 tablespoon of brown sugar is enough.
