A dark orange winter jam prepared from the fleshy part of rosehip, carefully separated from its fuzzy seeds. This forest fruit, which grows naturally in the wild, adds a tangy freshness to breakfast tables.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Boil the rosehips

30 min

Wash the rosehips and boil in water until soft.

2

Extract the pulp

30 min

Pass the boiled rosehips through a cheesecloth to fully remove the fuzzy seeds and extract the pulp.

3

Simmer with sugar

30 min

Cook the resulting pulp together with sugar and water over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it thickens.

4

Thicken and jar

10 min

Add the lemon juice and boil for a few more minutes. Important: check the consistency by dripping some onto a plate; fill sterilized jars while boiling hot and seal them.

Reminder

Important: It is essential to thoroughly clean out the fuzzy seeds inside rosehips; if the fuzz gets into your mouth, it can cause irritation. Contains no flour, milk, or eggs; it is plant-based and gluten-free. Fill sterilized jars with the boiling jam and store in a cool, dark place.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

After boiling the rosehips, straining them thoroughly through cheesecloth to remove all seeds and fuzz is the surest method. Fruit picked after the first frosts is less tart.
