The Lebanese-style breakfast plate, made with hummus, olive oil, olives and fresh vegetables, brings together the simple yet rich flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine. This presentation, flavored with za'atar, is also suitable for guest tables.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Spread the hummus

3 min

Spread the hummus onto a wide plate and make a well in the center with the back of a spoon.

2

Add olive oil and za'atar

2 min

Drizzle olive oil into the well and sprinkle za'atar on top.

3

Arrange the vegetables

5 min

Arrange the olives, tomatoes, and cucumber neatly around the edge of the plate.

4

Serve with flatbread

5 min

Serve immediately with hot lavash or pita bread.

Reminder

Allergen: contains gluten (lavash/pita) and sesame (za'atar, hummus). Important: If you can't find za'atar, you can make it at home by mixing dried thyme with toasted sesame in equal parts. Draining and drying the olives before serving prevents them from watering down the plate.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

The olive oil drizzled over hummus matters for both flavor and presentation; add it generously, without being stingy. Those who like can complete the classic presentation by sprinkling a few chickpeas and paprika over the hummus.
