A meze prepared by mashing oven-roasted beets with walnuts and strained yogurt, bringing festive color to the table. With its earthy-sweet aroma and creamy texture, it easily finds a place spread on bread or on a meze platter.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Roast the beets

60 min

Wash the beets, wrap in foil, and bake in a preheated oven until soft.

2

Peel and mash

10 min

Once the cooked beets have cooled slightly, peel and grate them or mash with a fork.

3

Combine

5 min

Mix the mashed beets with strained yogurt, crushed garlic, walnuts and salt.

4

Prepare for serving

2 min

Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with walnut pieces, then serve cold.

Reminder

Important: When baking the beets, wrapping them in aluminum foil and cooking them with the skin on both enhances their sweetness and keeps your hands from staining. Allergen: contains dairy (yogurt), tree nuts (walnut). Note: don't crush the beets while hot, as they can stain your hands and the counter.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

If you roast the beets in the oven instead of boiling them, they don't lose their juice and the flavor becomes much more concentrated; if you let them cool completely without opening the foil, peeling also becomes much easier.

İkinci kez yapıyorum, ilkinden de güzel oldu. Uzun zamandır ilk kez bu kadar rahat bir tarif yaptım.
