Pastırma plate is a traditional Turkish breakfast offering made by fanning thinly sliced beef pastırma with walnuts and fresh herbs, with no cooking required at all. At a crowded gathering it can be set out like a charcuterie board.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Bring the pastırma to room temperature

10 min

Take the thinly sliced beef pastırma out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.

2

Arrange the plate

5 min

Fan the pastırma slices out over a board or wide plate.

3

Garnish and serve

3 min

Scatter the arugula and roughly broken walnuts over the top, drizzle with lemon juice and olive oil, and serve immediately.

Reminder

Take the pastırma out of the fridge at least 10 minutes before plating; cold slices release their aroma far less than ones that have come up to room temperature. Allergens: contains tree nuts (walnut).
