Tunisian tuna harissa sandwich is a no-cook street food made by layering tuna, harissa, olives and pickles inside bread. Distributing the layers evenly ensures every bite tastes the same.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the bread

10 min

Spread harissa on both sides of the bread.

2

Layer the filling

20 min

Arrange the tuna, olives and boiled egg slices evenly inside the bread.

3

Close and serve

15 min

Close the sandwiches, cut in half and serve.

Reminder

Boil the egg ahead of time and let it cool, since a warm egg will make the bread soggy. Spread the harissa on both sides of the bread, or spreading it on just one side unbalances the flavour. Allergens: contains gluten (bread), fish (tuna), egg.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

Adding a pinch of capers to the sandwich brings it closer to the classic tang of Tunisian cuisine.

Harissayı tarifte söylendiği gibi ekmeğin her iki yüzüne de sürdüm, her lokmada gerçekten dengeli bir tat aldım; 4 kişilik porsiyon sofrada hızla bitti ve herkes ikinci sandviçi istedi.

45 dakikalık hazırlık süresi bence biraz abartılı, yumurtayı önceden haşlanmış aldığımda sandviçi tam 20 dakikada kolayca hazırladım; süre gerçekten kısaltılabilir, herkese bu pratik ipucunu şiddetle öneririm.
