Boil the lentils
15 minBoil the green lentils in plenty of water until al dente, then drain.
A pilav variety made by cooking green lentils together with rice in buttery onions, both filling and fiber-rich. With yogurt or on its own, it is one of the practical choices for lunch tables.
Boil the green lentils in plenty of water until al dente, then drain.
Melt the butter in a pot and sauté the finely chopped onion until lightly pink.
Add the drained rice and boiled lentils to the onion and sauté for a few minutes.
Add the hot water and salt, bring to a boil, then cook over low heat until it absorbs the water, remove from heat and let it rest.
Important: If you soak and rinse the rice in warm water before making pilaf, the starch is reduced and the grains stay separate. Allergen: contains milk and dairy products (butter).
If you start boiling the lentils a little before the rice, both reach the desired consistency at the same time.
