Kaskrut, a Tunisian street-food breakfast sandwich, is made by filling a baguette with tuna, hard-boiled egg, harissa, and olives and warming it in an air fryer. Using an air fryer instead of traditional deep-frying reduces the fat and offers a heart-healthy option.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the baguette

3 min

Split the baguette lengthwise and scoop out some of the inside. Brush the cut surfaces with olive oil.

2

Fill the baguette

5 min

Fill the baguette with the drained tuna, sliced hard-boiled egg, harissa paste, and black olives.

3

Heat in the air fryer

8 min

Place the filled baguette in the air fryer basket and heat at 180°C / 355°F for 8 minutes, until the outside is lightly crisp. If you do not have an air fryer, wrap it in aluminum foil and warm it in an oven preheated to 180°C / 355°F for 10 minutes.

Reminder

If you do not have an air fryer, use the oven alternative; foil keeps the baguette from drying out. Allergens: Contains wheat (gluten), egg, and fish.
