This recipe turns the classic Japanese katsu sandwich into a low-carb version: large lettuce leaves replace the breaded coating, while tofu slices are crisped in the air fryer with a thin sesame coating. It is also a handy way to use leftover boiled tofu.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the tofu

5 min

Brush the tofu slices with soy sauce and leave for 5 minutes, then pat dry with paper towels.

2

Coat the tofu

5 min

Dip the slices in the beaten egg, then coat them in sesame.

3

Cook in the air fryer

8 min

Set the air fryer to its high-heat setting and cook the tofu slices for 8 minutes, turning them once halfway through, until crisp.

4

Wrap and serve

4 min

Place the crispy tofu and carrot in the lettuce leaves, drizzle with tonkatsu sauce, and wrap.

Reminder

Be sure to pat the tofu thoroughly dry with paper towels before coating it; otherwise, the sesame coating will not stick and may fall off in the air fryer. Allergens: contains sesame and soy. Additional allergen check: check the product label for a gluten statement for the following ingredient: soy sauce. Ingredients may vary by product.

Bir önceki akşamdan artan haşlanmış tofuyu değerlendirmek için denedim ama susam kaplaması airfryer sepetinde beklediğim kadar yapışmadı, sekiz dakikanın sonunda yarısı dökülmüş halde kaldı; belki tofuyu yeterince kurulamamışımdır.
