An air-fryer take on classic grilled köfte, this recipe seasons beef mince with cumin and chilli flakes and cooks it with very little oil for a crisp outside and juicy inside. It uses far less oil than deep-frying would.
Knead the beef mince thoroughly with the grated onion, crushed garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, chilli flakes, salt and pepper.
Pinch off equal portions of the mixture and shape into oval patties.
Arrange the patties in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket and cook at 200°C, turning halfway, for 15 minutes until crisp outside; if you don't have an air fryer, you can bake them in a preheated oven at the same temperature for a similar time.
Don't overlap the meatballs in the basket, or the touching surfaces will steam instead of crisping up. If you don't have an air fryer, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 200°C for a similar time. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), egg.
