Honey orange pears are a Greek-inspired breakfast fruit made by halving pears, brushing them with a honey-orange syrup, and caramelising them in the air fryer with regular basting. The repeated basting builds up a glossy caramel layer on the pears.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the pears

10 min

Halve the pears and scoop out the cores.

2

Make the syrup

5 min

Mix the honey, orange juice, orange zest and cinnamon to make the syrup.

3

Air-fry

20 min

Brush the pear halves with syrup and place them in the air fryer basket, cooking in an air fryer preheated to 180°C for 20 minutes total, basting with syrup every 8 minutes. If you don't have an air fryer, a preheated oven at 180°C gets the same caramelisation in 25 minutes.

4

Serve

5 min

Scatter over the toasted walnuts and serve warm.

Reminder

Do not forget to baste the pears with syrup every 8 minutes, or the caramelisation will not be even. Work carefully when coring the pears so you do not pierce through them. Allergens: contains tree nuts (walnut).

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

You can use toasted almonds instead of walnuts; the flavour will be lighter but the presentation stays just as elegant.

Armutları her 8 dakikada bir fırçalamak yerine tek seferde bol şurup dökülse sonuç değişir mi, yoksa düzenli fırçalama gerçekten şart mı? Parti için bir gün önceden hazırlayıp ısıtsam olur mu?
