A lesser-known but very practical offal skillet dish made by quickly sautéing thin strips of lamb spleen with onion, garlic, and cumin. Suitable for those looking for an economical and filling everyday meal.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Preparation

10 min

Cut the spleen into thin strips and slice the onion into half-moons.

2

Saute the onion

5 min

Sauté the onions in oil over low heat until softened, then add the crushed garlic and sauté a few seconds more.

3

Add the spleen

10 min

Raise the heat and add the spleen strips; stirring constantly, sauté until the color changes and it's cooked through.

4

Season and serve

2 min

Add the cumin, salt, and black pepper and mix; serve hot.

Reminder

Contains no allergens. Important: Use medium-high heat when sautéing the spleen; cooking it for a long time over low heat causes it to release its liquid and turn into a boiled-like texture.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

Sprinkling a bit more cumin at the end of sautéing brings out the aroma more and enriches the flavor.
