A warm herbal tea for the winter months, made by steeping dried linden flowers in hot water. Served hot in the afternoon, plain or sweetened with honey and lemon.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Bring the water to a boil

5 min

Bring the water to a boil, remove from the heat, and let it rest for a few minutes to cool slightly.

2

Steep the linden

10 min

Add the linden flowers to the slightly cooled water, cover the teapot, and let it steep for 8-10 minutes.

3

Strain and serve

5 min

Strain the tea, divide among glasses, and serve hot with honey and a lemon slice if desired.

Reminder

Important: Add the linden to water that has boiled and rested a little, not directly to boiling water, and steep it; otherwise its color darkens and the aroma becomes harsh. Note: Don't extend the steeping time, as over-steeping can leave a bitter taste.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

If you keep the teapot lid closed, you prevent the volatile aromas from escaping with the steam.
