Inarizushi is a classic bento-box snack made by stuffing sweet-savoury simmered tofu pouches with vinegared sushi rice. Because the pouches can be prepared ahead, it holds up well served cold.
Simmer the pre-fried tofu pouches in a mixture of soy sauce, sugar and a little water over low heat for 15 minutes until the liquid is absorbed.
Remove the simmered pouches from the syrup and lay them out in a single layer on a tray to cool to room temperature.
Gently fold the cooked rice with the rice vinegar and sugar in a wide bowl, keeping it warm enough to stay sticky, then sprinkle over the toasted sesame seeds.
Carefully open the mouth of each tofu pouch and gently fill it with a handful of rice without pressing, then fold the edges in to close.
Do not overstuff the pouches with rice; if one tears while you close it, the rice will spill out. Allergens: contains soy.
Tofu poşetlerinin tatlı-tuzlu tadı pirinçle çok güzel dengeleniyor, çocuklarım bile severek yedi.
İlk denememde tofu poşetlerinin ağzını fazla açmaya çalışırken ikisini yırttım, dikkatli ilerleyince kalanları sorunsuz doldurdum. Soğuk servis edince bento kutusunda gayet iyi durdu, çocuklarım bile beğendi.
