Inspired by Irish boiled-dinner traditions, this recipe blends ground beef, diced potato and thyme, wrapped in puff pastry. Quickly crisped in an air fryer, these hand pies are ideal for a fast snack.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Make the filling

8 min

Cook the onion in oil until softened, add the ground beef and once browned stir in the boiled potato cubes, thyme, salt and pepper, cooking for another 5 minutes.

2

Shape the pies

7 min

Cut the puff pastry into squares, spoon the filling onto the centre of each, fold into a triangle or rectangle and seal the edges by pressing with a fork, then brush with beaten egg.

3

Air-fry

12 min

Arrange the pies on parchment in the air fryer basket and cook for 12 minutes until golden.

Reminder

Let the filling cool completely before wrapping it in pastry — hot filling softens the puff pastry and tears it. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten) and egg.

İç harcı sıcakken doldurdum, tarifte soğutma uyarısı olduğunu fark etmedim ve milföy elimde yumuşayıp yırtıldı; ikinci denemede iyice soğuttum, sorun kalmadı ama ilk denemedeki sonuç için puanım bu.

Haklısınız, o soğutma adımı gerçekten kritik; iç harcı buzdolabında en az 15 dakika bekletmek milföyün yumuşamasını önler, bu notu adımın başına taşıyacağım.
