An elegant cookie variety made by placing kaymak (clotted cream) inside thin, crumbly buttery dough. Generously dusted with powdered sugar as soon as it comes out of the oven, this recipe leaves a thoughtful impression at guest tables.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the dough

10 min

Beat the butter with powdered sugar, then add the flour, cornstarch, and vanilla, and knead.

2

Place the kaymak

12 min

Take a small piece of dough, flatten it in your palm, place a small amount of kaymak in the center, and close the edges to form a ball.

3

Cook

16 min

Arrange on the tray and bake in a preheated oven until the edges are lightly golden. Note: since kaymak may leak, don't forget to line the tray with parchment paper.

4

Sugar it

5 min

Once the cookies have cooled slightly, sprinkle plenty of powdered sugar over them.

Reminder

Allergen: contains wheat (gluten) and dairy products. Important: Use only a small amount of kaymak when placing it in the dough; too much kaymak will overflow from the edges during baking and distort the cookie's shape.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

If you can't find kaymak, thick clotted cream also provides a similar filling; however, the flavor won't be as rich as classic kaymak.
