Rinse the rice
5 minRinse the rice until the water runs clear.
Simplified from Kazakh beef pilaf traditions, this porridge is made by pressure-cooking leftover boiled beef with rice and carrot into a soft consistency in just minutes. Its easy-to-swallow soft texture for small children also makes it lunchbox-friendly.
Rinse the rice until the water runs clear.
Put the rinsed rice, leftover boiled beef, grated carrot and water in the pressure cooker and close the lid; once it starts hissing, lower the heat and cook for 8 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let the cooker rest unopened for 5 minutes.
Stir in the butter and a small pinch of salt, and once it has cooled slightly, divide it into small containers suitable for a lunchbox.
Use very little salt; the salt level should be kept low for small children. Allergens: contains milk and dairy (butter).
If you don't have leftover meat, you can also use raw ground beef; in that case, just extend the pressure-cooking time by 3 minutes.
