Keşkül is a velvety traditional Turkish cold custard made with ground almonds. With its mild sweetness and almond aroma, it's a beloved dessert for afternoon tea and guest tables.
Heat most of the milk together with the sugar in a pot, without boiling.
Mash the cornstarch with the remaining cold milk until lump-free, then add to the hot milk; add the almond flour as well, and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Add the vanilla and stir, then divide the mixture among serving bowls.
Once the bowls reach room temperature, chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour; garnish with roasted sliced almonds before serving.
Important: Keep stirring continuously while adding the starch to the milk, otherwise it may clump at the bottom of the pot. Allergen: contains milk and dairy products, almonds (nuts). Can be kept in the refrigerator in a sealed container for three days.
If you lightly toast the almonds you'll sprinkle on top, the keşkül's aroma noticeably increases.

Kızım da yardım etti, birlikte yapmak keyifliydi. Annemin yıllardır yaptığı tarife çok benziyor, nostaljik oldu.
