Boil the chestnuts
25 minBoil the chestnuts in plenty of water until softened.
An elegant winter dessert made by mashing boiled chestnuts with milk and sugar into a smooth consistency, served with whipped cream on top. The chestnut's natural sweetness is balanced by vanilla aroma.
Boil the chestnuts in plenty of water until softened.
Peel the chestnuts while still hot.
Mash or blend the peeled chestnuts with milk, sugar and vanilla until smooth.
Divide the puree among bowls and serve topped with whipped cream.
Allergen: contains dairy/whipped cream. Important: Peel the chestnuts while still hot after boiling; once cooled the shell hardens and becomes hard to remove.
If you pass the puree through a fine sieve, the fibrous texture of the chestnut disappears completely and you get a much smoother consistency.
