A meatball made by mixing boiled quinoa with grated zucchini and carrot and baking it in the oven. Prepared without frying oil, this recipe is a practical way to introduce children to quinoa, a whole grain source.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Boil the quinoa

15 min

Boil the quinoa in water according to the package ratio, then drain and let cool.

2

Prepare the filling

10 min

Mix the cooled quinoa with grated zucchini, carrot, egg, cheese, and dill, and season with salt and black pepper.

3

Shape and bake

20 min

Shape small patties from the mixture and arrange on a tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for about twenty minutes, turning over halfway.

Reminder

Important: Grated zucchini should be squeezed by hand to remove excess water, otherwise the mixture will become watery and the patties won't hold their shape. Allergen: contains milk and dairy products, egg. Shaped patties can be frozen in the fridge before cooking.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

If you add a pinch of cumin to the mixture, the quinoa's slightly grassy taste is balanced and the patties gain a fuller flavor.
