Boil the water
5 minBring the water to a boil in a pot.
A tart, aromatic herbal tea made by steeping dried rosehips in boiling water for a long time. It's a traditional brew often turned to for immune support on cold winter days.
Bring the water to a boil in a pot.
Add the dried rosehips to the boiling water and reduce the heat.
Cover with the lid and let it steep for at least 10 minutes; the fruits should soften and release their color into the water.
Strain the tea through a fine sieve, pour into glasses, and serve hot.
Important: Preparing rosehip by steeping rather than boiling it for a long time preserves most of its vitamin C. Those on regular medication or with a chronic condition should consult their doctor before consuming it regularly.
If you want to sweeten the tea with honey, wait for the water to cool slightly; honey added to very hot water can lose its beneficial compounds.
