A classic way to end a meal in Portugal, this dessert pairs orange segments with cinnamon and a touch of sugar without any cooking. Served cold, it makes a light finish after a heavier main course.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Slice the oranges

10 min

Peel the oranges, remove the white pith and cut into thin slices.

2

Season

5 min

Arrange the slices in a bowl, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, and garnish with the mint leaves.

3

Chill

15 min

Chill the salad in the refrigerator for 15 minutes, letting the cinnamon seep into the orange.

Reminder

Remove as much of the pith and membrane as possible while slicing the oranges, or the salad turns slightly bitter. Add the cinnamon before chilling, not right before serving, so its aroma seeps into the fruit. Allergens: none.
