Samosa, a beloved snack from Indian cuisine, is made by wrapping a spiced filling of potatoes and peas in thin dough folded into a triangle and frying it. Its intense aroma from spices like cumin and turmeric adds a distinctive flavor to tea time.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Rest the dough

15 min

Knead the flour, vegetable oil, water, and salt into a firm dough; cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.

2

Prepare the filling

10 min

Sauté the finely chopped onion, then add the diced potato, peas, cumin, turmeric, and salt, sautéing for a few more minutes.

3

Fold into triangles

10 min

Roll out the dough thin and cut into long strips, place some filling at the end of each strip, fold it over and over into a triangle shape, and seal the edges with water.

4

Fry

20 min

Heat plenty of vegetable oil over medium heat and fry the triangles until golden brown on all sides.

Reminder

Important: Press the edges of the triangles firmly with water while folding them, or the filling can leak out while frying. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten).

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

Adding a few drops of lemon juice to the potato filling gives the samosa's flavor a light freshness.
