A classic Greek pastry, tiropita is made by mixing feta and curd cheese with egg, wrapping it in thin filo sheets and baking until crisp. Folded into triangles, the pastries can be served either hot or at room temperature.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Prepare the filling

10 min

Mix the crumbled feta with the curd cheese, egg, dill and pepper into a smooth filling.

2

Cut the filo into strips

10 min

Cut the filo sheets into long strips and brush each one with melted butter.

3

Fold into triangles

20 min

Place a spoonful of filling at the end of each strip and fold it into a triangle, repeating until the filling is used up.

4

Bake

25 min

Brush the pastries with the remaining butter and bake in an oven preheated to 190°C for 25 minutes until golden.

Reminder

Brushing each filo layer lightly with melted butter as you fold increases the crispness of every layer. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), milk and dairy (feta, curd cheese), egg.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

Add salt carefully when preparing the filling — feta cheese is already salty on its own.

Filoyu şeritler halinde kesip üçgen katlamak ilk seferimde biraz zaman aldı ama 20 dakikada 20 üçgen çıkardım, hiçbiri yırtılmadı. Fırından çıkınca gerçekten çıtır çıtırdı, oda sıcaklığında bile aynı gevrekliği korudu.
