Made by turning leftover roasted meat into a saucy filling and wrapping it in ready-made puff pastry as small pies, these are New Zealand's classic mini meat pies. It is an economical way to use up leftover meat.

How to make it?

Prepare the filling

Soften the onion in a pan, add the leftover roasted meat, and cook with the tomato sauce, meat stock and black pepper for 10 minutes.

Cut the pastry

5 min

Cut the ready-made puff pastry into small rounds.

Fill and close

10 min

Spoon the filling onto half of the pastry rounds, cover with a second round, and press the edges with a fork to seal. Brush the tops with egg yolk.

Bake

25 min

Bake in an oven preheated to 200°C for 25 minutes, until the pies turn golden.

Reminder

Press the edges firmly with a fork, or the filling will leak out in the oven. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten), egg.

Artan kavurma bulamadığım için kalan tavuk hasağını kullandım, sos yirmi beş dakikalık fırınlamada biraz daha az yoğun oldu ama lezzeti yine de güzeldi, ailem farkı fark etmedi bile.

Tavuk hasağı gerçekten iyi bir alternatif, sosu biraz koyultmak için bir kaşık daha domates sosu ekleyebilirsiniz.
