Sandwiches, burgers, and wraps
This hot sandwich is made by placing sliced smoked beef pastrami and kashar cheese, a Turkish semi-hard cheese, between slices of bread and crisping it in the air fryer. It fits just as well on a brunch table as it does as a late-night snack.
Spread butter on the outside of the bread slices. Divide the kashar cheese and smoked beef pastrami between the inside faces, then close the sandwiches.
Lightly press the sandwiches as you place them in the air fryer basket. Cook at 200°C / 390°F for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until both sides are golden. If you do not have an air fryer, cook them for the same amount of time on a rack in an oven preheated to 200°C / 390°F.
Cut the hot sandwiches diagonally and serve immediately.
Press the sandwich lightly before placing it in the air fryer basket, or the layers may come apart. Do not extend the cooking time; the bread may dry out before the kashar melts. Allergens: contains gluten (bread/wheat flour) and dairy (kashar cheese).
