Chicken breast is marinated for an extended time in a seasoned yogurt mixture, quickly grilled over an open flame, and tucked between slices of whole-grain bread. Although the marinating takes time, preparation is simple: make it the night before and grill it in the morning.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Marinate the chicken

10 min

Mix the strained yogurt, olive oil, Turkish red pepper flakes, thyme, and crushed garlic, then spread the mixture over the chicken breasts pounded thin. The garlic adds depth to the marinade.

2

Let the chicken rest

80 min

Refrigerate the marinated chicken for at least 80 minutes.

3

Grill the chicken

15 min

Grill the chicken on an outdoor grill for 6–7 minutes per side, 15 minutes total, until the juices run clear.

4

Assemble the sandwich

10 min

Place the arugula and grilled chicken between slices of whole-grain bread and serve.

Reminder

Do not skip refrigerating the chicken in the marinade for at least 80 minutes; a shorter marinating time may leave the flavor only on the surface and make the meat tougher. Allergens: wheat (gluten) and dairy (yogurt).
