Kefta sandwiches are a popular Moroccan street-food snack for lunch, made by simmering meatballs seasoned with cumin and cilantro in tomato sauce, then serving them in a baguette. The meatballs need a long cooking time to absorb the sauce. The recipe uses simple steps, so it is approachable even for less experienced cooks.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Mix and shape the meatballs

15 min

Thoroughly mix the ground beef with the grated onion, cumin, cilantro, and salt. Shape into small meatballs.

2

Sear the meatballs

5 min

Heat the olive oil in a skillet and sear the meatballs until lightly browned on all sides.

3

Cook in the sauce

70 min

Add the grated tomato over the meatballs. Cover and cook over low heat until the meatballs have absorbed the sauce.

4

Fill the sandwich

5 min

Hollow out the baguette and fill it with the meatballs and sauce. Serve hot.

Reminder

Lightly sear the meatballs before adding them to the sauce; raw meatballs cooked directly in the sauce may fall apart and cloud it. Allergen: contains gluten from the baguette.

Köfteleri mühürlemeyi hiçbir zaman atlamadım ve tam 70 dakika boyunca yavaş yavaş sosta pişirdim, sonuç hem şekillerini koruyan hem sosu güzelce emmiş nefis köfteler oldu.

70 dakikalık pişirme süresi bende gerçekten biraz fazla uzun geldi ve köfteler kenarlardan hafifçe dağıldı, bir dahaki sefere tam 55 dakikada kontrol edip erkenden keseceğim.
