Sandwiches, burgers, and wraps
Inspired by Montreal’s famous smoked meat sandwich, this version layers thinly sliced boiled or roasted meat left over from the day before with mustard in rye bread. It comes together in minutes.
Thinly slice the leftover beef and warm it in a frying pan for a few seconds.
Spread mustard on two slices of rye bread. Place the warm meat slices and pickles between them.
Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately.
Slice the meat very thinly so the sandwich is easier to bite into; thick slices can tear the bread. Add the pickles just before serving, or the bread will become damp. Allergen: contains wheat (gluten).
