Slice the apples

Thinly sliced apples are tossed with cinnamon and slowly dried in the airfryer into a sugar-free, crunchy snack. The same slices dry just as well in a preheated oven.

Toss the slices gently with lemon juice and sprinkle the cinnamon evenly over them.
Arrange the slices in the airfryer basket without overlapping and dry at 130°C for 25 minutes, flipping once halfway. If you don't have an airfryer, dry them in an oven preheated to 130°C for 40 minutes.
The chips firm up further after coming out of the airfryer, so don't add extra time even if they seem a little soft. Stored in a sealed jar at room temperature, they stay fresh for 3 days.
Swapping the apple for pear may extend the drying time slightly, since pear holds more moisture. Reducing the cinnamon and adding a little desiccated coconut instead gives a different flavour.
