Make the batter
Mash the bananas well with a fork, then whisk in the egg and olive oil. Stir in the oats, whole wheat flour, cinnamon and baking powder until you have a smooth batter.
Baked in the airfryer or oven, these whole-grain baby biscuits get all their sweetness from ripe banana with no added sugar. Sliced into finger-sized pieces, they make a safe self-feeding snack for babies 12 months and up.
Mash the bananas well with a fork, then whisk in the egg and olive oil. Stir in the oats, whole wheat flour, cinnamon and baking powder until you have a smooth batter.
Pour the batter into a small greased tin. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 15 minutes, until the edges turn lightly golden. If using an airfryer, spread it in the basket and cook at 160°C for 12 minutes.
Let the baked batter rest in the tin for 10 minutes, then once it has cooled slightly, cut it into finger-sized slices.
If this is your baby's first taste, start with a single slice and watch for any reaction. Make sure the baking powder is fully mixed in before pouring the batter, or some slices will taste slightly bitter. Allergens: contains wheat (gluten) and egg.
Using fully ripe bananas removes the need for extra sugar; underripe bananas leave the biscuits under-sweetened.
