Made by kneading corn flour with fresh cheese and shaping the dough into small rolls before baking, this Colombian bread is a soft treat children enjoy at breakfast. As it contains no nuts, it also suits school breakfasts.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Knead the dough

15 min

Knead the corn flour, crumbled fresh cheese, milk, egg, baking powder and salt into a smooth dough.

2

Rest

30 min

Wrap the dough and chill it for 30 minutes; this keeps the rolls from falling apart while shaping.

3

Shape the rolls

15 min

Roll the rested dough into small balls and arrange them on a lined baking tray.

4

Bake

30 min

Bake in an oven preheated to 190°C for 30 minutes, until lightly golden on top.

Reminder

Lightly dampen your hands while shaping the dough to prevent sticking. Allergens: contains milk and dairy, egg.
