Colombia's plain black street coffee, tinto, is here brewed by suspending coarsely ground coffee in a filter bag inside a pressure cooker for a fast, strong extraction. Served without sugar or milk, it is a naturally low-carbohydrate drink.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Bag the coffee

5 min

Fill a filter bag with the coarsely ground coffee and the cinnamon stick, tie it loosely and place it in the pressure cooker with the water.

2

Brew under pressure

8 min

Bring the pot up to pressure and hold it over low heat for 8 minutes, then remove from the heat and let the pressure release naturally.

3

Strain and serve

3 min

Remove the bag, squeeze it lightly to extract the strong coffee, and serve it hot in cups.

Reminder

Tie the filter bag loosely — if it is tied too tight the water cannot properly penetrate the grounds. Contains no listed allergens.
