Buñuelos, a Colombian Christmas and birthday-party classic, are golden balls of dough kneaded with fresh cheese. Made in the air fryer, they use far less oil than deep-frying while staying just as crisp outside. Served warm, the salty cheese balances the lightly sweet dough.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Knead the dough

10 min

Knead the grated cheese, cornstarch, egg, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a bowl until you get a smooth dough.

2

Shape the balls

8 min

Pinch off twelve small egg-sized pieces of dough and roll each between your palms into a ball.

3

Cook in the air fryer

12 min

Arrange the balls with space between them in the air fryer basket and cook at 190°C for twelve minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crisp. If you do not have an air fryer, bake in a preheated oven at the same temperature.

Reminder

If the dough sticks to your hands, work in a little more cornstarch — a wet dough stays raw inside. Allergens: contains milk and dairy, egg.

Airfryer'da yaptığım ilk buñuelos denemem oldu, dışı çıtır içi peynirli çıktı. Kolay bir tarif, tekrar yapacağım kesin.
