Pressure cooker mini meatballs are a practical Turkish recipe made by rolling small beef meatballs and cooking them in just a few minutes with a little water in a pressure cooker. Adding breadcrumbs to the meat mixture keeps the meatballs from falling apart under pressure. Served warm they suit the breakfast table, served cold they work in a snack box, and they come to the table just as comfortably as a late-night bite.
Knead the garlic and onion together with the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, cumin and salt.
Pinch off pieces of about 20 grams from the mixture and shape them into round mini meatballs.
Arrange the meatballs in the pressure cooker, add the water, close the lid and cook for 10 minutes once the valve starts hissing.
Remove from heat and let it cool naturally for 10 minutes until the valve stops hissing.
If you open the pressure cooker lid before the pressure has fully released, steam can spray toward your face — wait until the valve stops hissing. Allergens: contains gluten (breadcrumbs) and egg.
Adding a pinch of cumin to the mixture gives the mini meatballs the familiar aroma of Turkish home cooking.
