Boil the spaghetti
10 minBoil the spaghetti in salted water for 10 minutes, then drain.
A staple of Japan's old-fashioned kissaten coffee shop breakfast menus, this ketchup spaghetti is made by pan-frying boiled pasta with sausage, onion and green pepper in butter and tossing it with ketchup. Topped with a fried egg, it becomes a full breakfast plate.
Boil the spaghetti in salted water for 10 minutes, then drain.
Fry the onion, green pepper and sliced sausage in the butter for 8 minutes.
Add the boiled spaghetti to the pan and toss with the ketchup and black pepper for 7 minutes.
Fry the eggs sunny-side up in a separate pan and place them on top of the spaghetti.
Don't let the spaghetti cool after boiling, adding it to the pan while hot helps the ketchup cling better. Allergens: contains gluten (spaghetti) and egg.
