- No mortar and pestle: crush the spices inside a clean cloth with a rolling pin
Safety
- Do not walk away while toasting spices; they can burn within seconds.
- Do not lean over the pan and breathe in the smoke from toasting spices directly.
- Ground spice is stronger than whole spice — adjust the recipe's amount accordingly.
